Two words: Polar Vortex.  For those of you who are anywhere except California and Florida, this month’s collection of Workout Jams are dedicated to you.  If it’s any consolation, we here at the Olympic Training Center are racking up our fair share of km’s too–and these are the tunes we’re spinning to in San Diego.  First up: freshness from the ethereal electronic goddess herself Ellie Goulding with some help from my New York based friends, the Chainsmokers.  From there settle into your steady state trance with cool, mellow tracks from Disclosure, Mutemath and what is likely to be the only appearance of Miley Cyrus in one of my WJ playlists (I know… just give it a chance). For those who like a little more party in their pants while on the ol’ CII, get funky with Milky Chance’s “Stolen Dance”  (Alex Brand’s Saxual Edit … emphasis on the Sax), and the super-disco party bomb “Rikki” from Blende. For the hip-hoppers and funk traditionalists, don’t hate me for including a James Brown remix and wrapping up the set with a brilliantly upbeat Bit Funk remix of the Pharcyde’s “Runnin”.  Enjoy, and don’t let winter training get you down.  It’s only January, after all.  Rock on.
