Selection for 2010 has come to an end and we are through to the other side of the Naming Date. As of this afternoon, I have been nominated to the 2010 World Championship Team for a seat in the W4X.
Congratulations to all of my teammates who survived the onslaught of 1500m pieces over the past several days (!!), and good luck to all in the recovery process tomorrow and Wednesday. A special congrats to newcomer Natalie Dell for stepping up and jumping in with the PTC group to make this year’s Quad. And a shoutout to teammate Jessi Reel, who fought for a seat with a ton of heart but who didn’t make the cut this year. I was really impressed with the quality of racing, and the integrity and grace demonstrated by all the athletes going through the selection process. I am truly proud to be a part of this group.
W4X lineup TBD: M. Kalmoe, N. Dell, S. Trowbridge, M. Shumway
W8+/W2-/W4- lineups also TBD, but the selection pool is narrowed to the appropriate number of athletes for the job.
Trials next week should be interesting–good luck to everyone who is racing!
SEE YOU IN NEW ZEALAND!!
Long Live the Dream,
–MK
Congrats to all, and best of luck in NZ.
